When the black wings spread...

Sports, anime, manga, games, food, all that is important to life... well, at least, having fun at it, anyways.

Brain Powereds

I've been playing Super Robot War J this past week (not even a week though), and one of the series of robots in the game are from Brain Powered. That being said, having finished level 27 (of like 52ish), I've got something like 10 Brain Powered mechs, and I don't use a single one. Apparently I even get a couple more. That led to this exchange.

(22:12:21) HeionSatsuKenshi: fuck
(22:12:23) HeionSatsuKenshi: so many brains
(22:12:33) Ryu Kou Gaiji: Wonder who lost them
(22:12:43) HeionSatsuKenshi: i know seriously
(22:12:46) HeionSatsuKenshi: stupid Orphan

To make matters worse, they're pretty bad... they dodge everything but they spew out this puny amount of damage that probably makes Zakus brush their shoulders as if a fly was sitting on it. You'd think with so many mechs from one series that at least one would be fairly decent, but no...

I mean, you get a bunch of units from Layzner that aren't too hot (most of them seem to be support), but at least the enemy Layzner units are freakin' vicious.

And thus did the stupidity of the American government shine yet again

Check this article out about suing annoying people online. I've been wandering around lately writing other things, so the blog has become slightly left behind. But not forgotten.

I like how they passed it, but it'll get destroyed by like, the first case on the grounds of the First Amendment.

Writing as a form of introspection

It's really hard to write anything that you don't really know about. Oh, it can be done, but rarely will you be successful at it enough to make anyone, including yourself, really believe it. That really limits the scope of any 'believable' story if they're written without a lot of deep thought.

That being said, the opposite means that any story you write will generally be a reflection of yourself. Anything you write down will have to have been born from you. So you can look at what you've written and see a mirror of your abstract self. Not that it'll necessarily do you any good, but it's still interesting to see.

I personally love stories that make me feel uplifted. That generally requires characters that I can sympathize with (though my requirements for said characters tend to be really, really, really harsh) as well as an involving plotline... but at the same time, I myself can't actually write any story like that... I tend to write something more tragic. I also end up trying to make everything make sense, a pet peeve of mine because so many stories with pits in logic and unexplained matters drive me nuts.

I could keep going on, but it's stuff like that that's really cool about writing...
